ESS-13 is pre-mixed with our E-13 compaction aid, pumped in pre-measured quantities into the soil with conventional earth moving equipment. The treated soil is then compacted in two consecutive six inch layers.

General Use:

Product designed for three (3) application processes.

  1. Waterborne: ESS-13 is added directly into the lake/pond/lagoon, evenly dispersing and reducing the seepage rate.
  2. Spray-On: ESS-13 is simply sprayed on top of a properly prepared sub-grade, allowed to dry then covered with layer of compacted select soil.
  3. Treat & Compact: ESS-13 is mixed into the soil, then compacted in 6” lifts to form a high-density soil liner.

Storage:

  • Keep from freezing. Product should be stored under cover and out of direct sunlight.


Dilution:

  1. Waterborne: Typical application rate of one gallon of ESS-13 per 2,000 gallons of water.
  2. Spray-On: Typical application is 22 drums per acre on preferred soil and 44 drums per acre on marginal soil
  3. Treat & Compact: Typical application rate of 4 drums per acre. Apply at 2% below optimum moisture.


Soil Types:

  • Compatible with most soil types. Soil samples are obtained prior to application and tested by an independent laboratory pursuant with ASTM standards. Seepage Control has had over 48 years of successful projects sealing a wide variety of soil types. Seals have maintained and/or increased their effectiveness over time.
